Understanding how people manage uncertainty and seek reassurance when dating.
An experimental product design exploration that reframes modern dating through the lens of transparent compatibility.
This project started as a brief to imagine an astrology-powered dating experience for users in India. This project quickly evolved into a deeper inquiry into how people make emotional decisions, manage uncertainty, and seek reassurance while forming relationships.
Instead of optimizing for speed or volume, the work explores how a dating product might reduce anxiety by helping users understand why a connection feels aligned or strained. Astrology is used not as a rule system, but as a language for explanation and reflection.
The outcome is Sama: a conceptual dating app built around the idea of clarity over guesswork. The work spans user research, behavioral insights, product strategy, and end-to-end experience design, intentionally prioritizing emotional safety, trust, and transparency over typical addictive mechanics.

From core mental model to interface: keeping explanation as a first-class feature.
